Antibalas releases new single “La Ceiba” from 8th full length album “Hourglass” on Daptone Records 10/24/25
Finally, this album is done and making its way into the world. I will be doing a lot of press for the album so I won’t say too much here other than I am grateful to all the musicians who persevered to make this album come to life and played their hearts out. The musicianship and compositions are among our best yet, and that is saying a lot.

It has been ten years since I lived in Texas and almost that long since I’ve done any shows there. That said, I’m excited to be back, looking forward to seeing a bunch of old friends and family.

We spent two days in the studio last week to record some ideas and shape together some songs. It has been quite liberating to play in a small ensemble with so much space for texture, silence, and rhythm. We just started playing together a few months ago but we have spent decades drinking from a lot of the same musical fountains and when we get together, things just flow.
